Community Programs

Project Shamash offers meaningful and relevant programming in the Bay Area, aimed at uplifting the voices, magnifying the interests, and centering the needs of Jews of Color within Jewish life, including young adults and families.

We seek to build relationships between and amongst Jews of Color in the Bay, and to model what JOC-centered programming looks like/feels like to the broader Jewish institutional community.

We invite JPOC/POC-led organizations and teachers to help us embody a variety of ways of knowing and growing, and we lean into culture-building and the creative arts to form community spaces that are participatory, dynamic, healing, and empowering.

We also invite the broader Jewish institutional community to partner with us by offering their gifts, and to try on offering programming that reflects a racial equity lens.
